Prior to installing the hair, it is recommend that you shampoo and condition the hair, shampoo twice and condition the hair once. (Do not massage the hair). Be sure to rinse the conditioner out completely, to assure there is no residue left from the conditioner. If build up or residue is left in the hair, the hair will be weighed down and lacking its natural luster and shine. When drying, gently finger comb the hair of any tangles and lay or hang hair to dry. Repeat these steps every 1.5 to 2 weeks while hair is installed (to dry let hair air dry or sit under a hooded dryer).

Make sure you hair is trimmed by a professional regularly. Remember the human hair grows a half inch every month but if you have split ends and it stays dry it will surely break off something serious. Only trim off about a 1/4 and no more than one-half inch every six weeks to six months. The time will vary depending on how well you treat your hair and how much chemical is riding the follicles.
